Girl's camp this year was the BEST!!! It was soooooooooo much fun in our cabins were alot of girls your age that you got to choose two of them that you wanted in there (if that makes sense at all,) 3 Y C L'S who are youth camp leaders, they were all like sixteen and sooooooooooooooo nice one of them is in my ward but she "was inactive" before camp. We also had 3 adult leaders that were all in the "foot hills" or whatever wards. Ill start off telling you about the 3 Y C L'S. This is them...
(very left is McKell, Meghan, and then Stephanie.)
Mckell- she was the kind of "motherlike" one of them. She did crafts and stuff with us, but was still all chilled and cool with anything, but made sure we did whats right.
Meghan- Soon as i meet Meghan I automatically felt like I had known her since i was born. It felt like she was my "sister" i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed her. She was the "spiritual" one who would always give the EXCELLENT devotionals, read scriptures with us, and talk with us and stuff. Every night at camp we would go out it the forest behind our cabin and we started reading scriptures and stuff. We ended up just talking the whole time. We talked about trials we have faced, how we overcame them, and how to overcome them. We all talked about something different. Like i talked about Grandpa Houston. Meghan was just a really neat person inside and out...
This is kind of a stupid story but i thought it was really cool, so we were out in the words. We had just got there and started to read scriptures that said something like this, "Satan will always through temptations at you, always strive to stay on the straight and narrow." Right after we read that scripture a swarm of bees came making most of the girls jump up and scream. NO ONE could consentrate...so Aren asked if we should say a prayer. We did. Right after the prayer ended all the bees quickly buzzed away not to bother us the rest of the time it was soooo cool.
Stephanie- Steph is in my ward, i didn't know her at all though because she never came to church. She wasn't going to go to camp but people told her she should. So she did. Without Steph there camp would not have been the same. She always brightened up the whole room; you could see that she was showing her true "light of Christ." She had a seizure at camp because she got whats called "alttitude sickness" It usually takes over 2 weeks for her to get back to her normal health after having a seizure, my mom was in there helping her and she said she walked out of the cabin while steph was getting a preisthood blessing to tell some ladies to be quiet, she said that before she left stephanie was shaking and unresponsive. When my mom walked back in the room Stephanie was tottaly calm not shaking. My mom asked if she needed anything and she said "i really need to go to the bathroom" Stephanie got up on her feet and walked out the door and was fine the rest of girl's camp. It was a MIRACLE. Steph is now really close to me... i made her promise to me at camp that she would come to church the next week...she has now been to every church event, including sunday classes, firesides, mutual nights, ect. I'm so proud of my "Big LoVe BuG" for being just her.
At camp Tawni and i had a Blast spending time together, along with Brooke, lexie and aren. This is a bad picture but we were just having fun.... (Arens not in it, it goes me, Brooke, Tawni, and Lexie.)
The first day we got up there we left from my house at 4:00 a.m. When we go up there we all got are cabin assignments and celebrated with our cabins haha. After a while we went down to crafts we played, Get to Know You Games, made Dog Tags, and painted and mad
e a sheild. Then we had a cabin devotional, and a stake fireside. We had Haystacks for dinner, and that's pretty much the first day.
The second day we had French toast, then went to some workshops they were really fun. One you had to try to get paint out of a washrag with just water, another you had to guess what flavor the jelly beans were without having any reference, another you made bracelets, another you wrote a letter to your mom, and the other one you tied quilts and so on. We had Taco's for dinner. Then we went on the FAITH WALK. EVERYONE bawled through the whole thing because the spirit was soo strong you were blindfolded and just had to hold on to the rope and walk for like a mile or something there were people along the way telling you to take a "shortcut" and stuff. it was really neat because when you reached the end and took your blindfold off the stake leaders were standing there in there BEAUTIFUL white dresses and each one would give you a hug they would say something like "You made it" it finally dawned on me that I was in the celestial kingdom...Everyone met up with there friends and were hugging each other and crying. It was such a neat experience. It was really late by the time we got back so we went straight to bed.
The next morning we had pancakes and packed our lunch because today was our "adventure day" we went back to the cabin and got all ready and stuff then hiked down to the lake. On the lake we all got to get in canoes. went with ashlyn and katlyn (my 2nd cousin) this is them...
The canoes were Sooo much fun...
Right after the canoes we ate lunch and hiked around the lake a little bit. Me, Tawni, Ashlyn, and Katlyn, took some random, stupid, but kinda cool pics like this one of katelyn. We aslo took pics early at the camp like these 2…
After the canoes we walked all the way to the obstacle course. It had many different obstacles but the biggest one was the zip-line you might remember it from last years post. It was super fun…My legs got reallly really realy shakkkky because its soooo high up but it was fun anyways. After that long and tiring day we went back and got in wards for testimony meetings. We sang songs with maddies mom and anna and maddies grandpa. Their grandpa played the accordian and her mom conducted. It was super fun we sang songs like "Yellow Polka Dot TANKINI" it was fun then bro. ainsworth gave a talk. And we started with testimonies. Everyone bawled through that too. But I LOVE testimony meetings at camp they are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo spirtual and cool that you can't even describe it. Then we went back to the main pavilion and had peach cobler. Then we went to bed.
The next day was time to go home so we headed out and left camp … I was sad to leave but also excited to see my family. So that's camp and the longest post I've ever posted. Be sure to check out my sis. Blog that she just made its… http://crazy4summer.blogspot.com sorry for all the errors in this message it's late and I am typing fast cya.
